We want to see our students grow, not only in musical ability but also as confident and capable leaders. We have a program called the Student Leadership Council in which students can take on leadership roles in the organization. Our student leadership council is open to PACO students of all ages.
To sign up for one of these roles, fill out the student leadership council signup sheet in the Membership area for your orchestra.
Pedagogical Ambassadors: Older PACO students can become coaches for younger student chamber ensembles. Our PA's get regular teaching guidance supported by our PACO faculty.
Program Note Writers: Students can write program notes for their orchestras, including a historical introduction to the composer and a detailed overview of each repertoire piece.
Student Journalists: Students can act as journalists and editors of the PACO Newsletter, and are responsible for conducting interviews and writing articles relevant to the PACO community.
Community Ambassadors: All PACO students from any orchestras can play music together at community events (we perform in over 20 events per season).
Social Media Liaisons: Students can post and promote PACO concerts, PACO news and other music related content.
Other PACO Leadership Projects:
PACO-Ghana Collaboration: Students can collaborate with the SOS music school in Ghana Africa to provide mentorship through online music lessons to young string students there. Learn more
PACO Into the World Scholarship: All PACO students can apply to fund any project that takes the philosophy of PACO out into the World. Project ideas are adjudicated and chosen by Music Director Scott Krijnen in conjunction with the PACO Board of Directors. Projects require a formal proposal and budget as well as a final summary. More information will be available in early 2026. A list of previously funded projects is listed here: previous projects
