PACO produces A Bach Celebration!, a more or less annual concert celebrating the life and music of Johann Sebastian Bach in the lovely Valley Presbyterian Church, nestled in the redwoods of Portola Valley. Current PACO members mingle with alumni in a performance of music drawn from a wide variety of Bach’s chamber, choral, and orchestral works. PACO regularly produces a Chamber Music Benefit Concert that supports PACO’s Chamber Music Workshop and features exceptional PACO quartet presentations.
In addition to these scheduled events, established quartets from the upper three orchestras are invited to perform at numerous private, public and corporate functions throughout the year. These performances are organized and overseen by the PACO Quartet Program, with proceeds from the program allocated to participating students as a form of work-study assistance. PACO also provides need-based scholarships so that no student can be excluded from its program due to financial necessity.
