Fry Street Quartet Masterclass
The Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra is pleased to welcome the Fry Street Quartet for a chamber music masterclass on Wednesday, February 27, from 6:30-7:30pm. Fry Street, named for the street on which they originally rehearsed, is one of the United States’ most successful and popular quartets, and is in residence at Utah State University. Winners of multiple competitions and in-demand wherever classical music is popular, the quartet will bring their unique blend of energy and enthusiasm to the class. In February the quartet appointed Robert Waters as its new first violin- Robert, a faculty member at PACO camp from 2002-2009, is a familiar (and greatly missed) face, and we’re ecstatic that PACO’s members will be able to learn from him once again.
The masterclass is free and open to the public, and will take place in room M2 of the Cubberley Community Center in Palo Alto. It will feature two chamber ensembles from amongst PACO’s five levels, and will be a great introduction to any potential members curious about our small ensembles, our students, and our mission.
