Musical Maiden
Experience the joy of music, as abundantly evident in music by Baroque rockstar Jean-Baptiste Lully, the teenaged Felix Mendelssohn, and northern California’s classical bard Lou Harrison. Our maiden is Palo Alto’s own cello virtuosa Michelle Djokic… and yes, we will also perform Schubert’s great Death and the Maiden in a powerful version for string orchestra.

Viva Vivaldi
Fritz Kreisler, one of the great violin virtuosi of 20th century, wrote his charming Concerto as an homage to Antonio Vivaldi; our sterling soloist, Debra Fong, will also perform Vivaldi’s ever-green Spring from The Four Seasons. Osvaldo Golijov’s Last Rounds was his homage to Astor Piazzolla; it’s a sizzling, tango-inspired work that might have you dancing in the aisles.

Our American entry is the world premiere of PACO’s sixth Youth-for-Youth commission, a brand new work for string orchestra by Elizabeth Ogonek, a student at USC’s Thornton School of Music.
